Mahi Mania!

by | Aug 15, 2015

Offshore:

After a very impressive bite offshore yesterday, we are hoping for a repeat in today’s catch. This morning the Rebel, GitRDone, Veteran, and WaveRunner  all headed out to the deep water bright and early this morning. Yesterday there were a lot of very nice hauls of Mahi, a bunch of Marlin releases, and even some nice bottom fish that were all brought back to the docks. The GitRDone just hit the docks flying both a White Marlin and a Blue Marlin release flag. They also brought back a huge haul of gaffer Mahi, roughly 40 of them! The WaveRunner just racked some really nice gaffer Mahi as well, and a nice 41 pound Wahoo!  We also had some nice Spadefish brought in by a private boat. The Rebel came back with a nice catch of Mahi, as well as a few Marlin.

Don’t Forget Tomorrow Is The Wine, Women, & Fishing Tournament!

We have 6 boats from the fleet fishing in the tournament, alongside several of our private boats. Be sure to stop by around 5 to support the lady anglers fishing for a great cause!

Inshore:

This morning we had the Capt Cheryl and Top Notch fishing inshore. lately there has been a nice bite of Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish, as well as some nice Cobia. The nearshore charters have also had a great time catching and releasing small sharks! The Capt Cheryl had a great time this morning getting hooked up on some Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish! The Top Notch should be back around 3, be sure to check back with us to see how they did! We also had a private boat pull up to the docks with some nice Spanish Mackerel, and a few Bluefish!

Rudee Inlet:

Rudee Inlet remains steady with a strong Croaker bite, as well as some nice Spot being caught as well. The best baits to use when targeting these fish seem to be cut squid, as well as live bloodworms. There has also been a scattered Flounder bite. The best baits to use to attempt to get hooked up to a Flounder are live minnows or Gulps on a light jig head! Stop by the store to get all your bait and tackle to have a great time fishing in Rudee Inlet!
