Rain Rain Go Away

Today At The Marina:

Today is a rainy morning here at the marina. Highs will be in the mid 60’s with northeast winds between 5 and 10 mph. We are expecting the rain to pretty much sit on us for most of the day, being light and steady, with some times of heavy rain. The rain should leave us by tomorrow afternoon.

Rudee Inlet:

Fishing in Rudee Inlet continues to produce a nice catch of Speckled Trout. Recent reports show that most of the Speckled Trout have been throw backs, with a few keepers in the mix. The popular choice of bait for the Speckled Trout seems to be the Gulp on a light jig head, though some MirrOLures seem to work as well. There is also a scattered bite of Spot and Puppy Drum, with a few lingering Croaker in the mix. For these fish most cut baits will do the trick; live bloodworms, fishbites, squid, and cut finger mullet. Though is it raining today don’t be afraid to throw out a line as the fish do not mind the rain, they are already wet.

Inshore:

Inshore fishing has been a little slow here in recent days with not much action. The last inshore trip that was ran returned with a handful of Bluefish. We are hoping to start seeing some Stripers in the near future, though the past few years have not been the best Rockfish seasons, we remain optimistic that this year could have a good bite. Be sure to keep checking back with us to see if they show!

Offshore:

Sadly today we do not have any boats fishing offshore.

Fall offshore fishing has produced a really great Wahoo bite. There have also been some nice Yellowfin Tuna brought in, as well as some pretty Mahi hitting the docks recently as well. Check out some of the pictures from yesterdays catch! We had a private boat come to the docks today with some nice catches of Sea Bass and Tilefish along with a nice Yellowfin Tuna and a 41 lb Wahoo!
