Today, we had the first day of the F. Wayne McLeskey Memorial Marlin Open as well as the High Hopes and Backlash offshore.
The High Hopes came in with a White Marlin release as well as some Blueline Tilefish!
The Backlash came home flying a Blue Marlin flag and 2 White Marlin flags! They also lost a really nice Blue Marlin!
In the tournament, there was a great catch of Blue Marlin and White Marlin as well as some really nice Yellowfin Tuna and Dolphin. At the end of day 1, the leader board is as follows:
1 – First Look, 500 points. (1 Blue Marlin, 2 White Marlin)
2 – Croupier, 400 points. (1 Blue Marlin, 1 White Marlin)
3- Reelin N’ Dealin, 300 points. (1 Blue Marlin (on time- 10:19am))
Tuna: First Look, 71#
Dolphin: Poor Girl, 23#
Wahoo: none weighed in yet.
Junior Angler: Bryce Ragans with a 51.5# tuna on the Eye Can’t Tail (no billfish caught by jr. angler yet!)
1st Blue Marlin: First Look, 9:56AM. The Anticipation still has their first day of fishing tomorrow so they are the only ones who could shake this up!
