2015 Cobia Cup, Trolling Inshore, & 1 Boat Offshore

Offshore:

This morning the High Hopes left for the deep bright and early. We are hoping to see some more catches of Mahi, as well as possibly a Wahoo, Tuna, or both. We are also expecting to see some flags flying on the outriggers for catching and releasing both Blue Marlin and White Marlin. The High Hopes returned with some really nice Mahi as well as a few bottom fish!

The following pictures are from the Backlash’s offshore trip yesterday!

Inshore:

This morning we had several boats head out on inshore trips. The Backlash, Top Notch, Veteran, & WaveRunner are all fishing off our beautiful coast here in Virginia Beach. Today is the Virginia Beach Third Annual Cobia Cup. So we have a few of the boats competing in the tournament, while others are just fishing on normal inshore charters.

Rudee Inlet:

Rudee Inlet has consistently produced a steady Croaker and Spot bite. The popular choice of baits for these fish has been live bloodworms as well as squid. The Flounder bite has seemed to drop off here in recent days but there are still some keepers being caught. The best baits to use to hook up on a flounder would be live minnows, as well as Gulp on a light jig head.
