With The Rain Coming…

Offshore:

None of the fleet was able to fish offshore today due to mother nature not cooperating. With the winds reaching up to 20 kt the seas were being called to be on the rougher side, making it not the best fishing conditions offshore. We are hoping that tomorrow the winds will lay down, making the seas calmer, allowing for the fleet to get back out offshore and chase the Billfish, Tuna, and Mahi. Don’t forget we have a few tournaments coming up over the next few weeks. This Sunday, August 16th 2015 is the Wine, Women, And Fishing Tournament.  We are hoping that fishing conditions will be awesome, and the lady anglers will be able to get on the Billfish! The Week after that kicks off the Virginia Beach Billfish Tournament on Thursday, August 20th 2015.

The following picture is from the Top Notch’s offshore charter yesterday:

Inshore:

With the local weather stations calling for heavy rain for a majority of today, the captains decided to postpone their inshore trips for a nicer day. Tomorrow we have multiple inshore trips scheduled to go, some in the morning, while others in the afternoon. So be sure to check back with us tomorrow for the most up to date inshore report.

Rudee Inlet:

Rudee Inlet remains to have a steady bite of Croaker and Spot. There has also been reports of some nice Flounder being caught. The Croaker and Spot seem to hit best on squid and live bloodworms. The flounder have been hitting live minnows best in recent days, though gulps on a light jig head seem to also produce results!
