Exciting Inshore Fishing & Day 1 of VB Tuna Tournament

by | Jun 23, 2016

Rudee Inlet:

The Rudee Inlet bite continues to improve as we have warmer weather. The Flounder bite continues to heat up with more and more reports of keepers being caught. Flounder have been hitting best on either live minnows or Gulp on a light jig head. There are still a few Bluefish and Speckled Trout hitting on topwater artificial baits. The Bluefish have been hitting best on cut finger mullet off the bottom as well as Gulps. For those anglers looking to catch some Croaker and Spot you are best off using either live bloodworms or squid.

Inshore:

Yesterday, the High Hopes returned in the afternoon with a fantastic haul of Spanish Mackerel, as well as some nice Bluefish in the mix. Today the inshore fishing was just as exciting as the day before. We had several boats off of our first class fleet so some inshore fishing. The Rebel, High Hopes, and WaveRunner all returned from to the docks from fishing just off our coast with some beautiful hauls consisting of Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, and Spadefish! The Rebel is also fishing this afternoon so be sure to check back with us around 6 to see how the fared.

Offshore:

Today is day one of The Virginia Beach Tuna Tournament. The first day of the Tuna Tournament started off slow due to only a few boats fishing. We are excited for the next two days. Though we had 2 boats today weigh in some nice Yellowfin Tuna and a Mahi!
