Weather Is Starting To Break, Sharks & Bluefish Inshore

by | Aug 9, 2015

Offshore:

Due to the the high winds recently, sadly none of the boats were able to fish offshore. The Seas were just a little on the rougher side of things, making fishing offshore a little too difficult. We are hopeful that they winds kicked up the seas enough to stir up some great fishing the next time the boats are able to make it out. We are a week away from the Wine, Women, & Fishing Tournament next Sunday, August 16th, 2015.  The following week kicks off the Virginia Beach Billfish Tournament, August 20th – August 22nd  2015. So real shortly we will have plenty of action here at the marina, and even more fishing to be done offshore! Tomorrow, as long as the weather is cooperating we have 5 boats scheduled to take off to the deep. So be sure to check back with us tomorrow, and hopefully we will be able to have an up to date offshore report!

Inshore:

The Top Notch fished inshore today and brought back in some nice Bluefish. They also had a great time catching and releasing some small sharks, and spotted a few Cobia but for some reason they just did not want to bite!

Rudee Inlet:

The Rudee inlet bite has been predominantly Croaker and Spot, with a few keeper Flounder in the mix. The best baits to use for the Croaker and Spot have been live bloodworms and squid. The Flounder have seemed to hit best on live minnows, but will also attack a gulp on a light jig head.
