Virginia Beach Fishing Center Winter

As Winter seems to have her sights set on Virginia Beach and the cold will be here soon we wanted to let everyone know that we are still fishing and will continue to fish throughout the winter months! We figured we would let everyone know what kind of fishing there will be for the next few months so you can plan ahead and book with us.

The Rockfish are biting up in the bay currently and there have been reports of some pretty nice ones. If you are interested in a Rockfish trip we can take you to the Chesapeake Bay on a 1/2 Day Nearshore (5 hours) but what we really recommend is the All Day Inshore trips (8 hours). The Rockfish season for the bay is open until December 31st and then Rockfish season will transition into the ocean!

While the Rockfish are usually the most “popular” fish during this time of year the Seabass season also remains open until December 31 and we are keeping our fingers crossed that the Bluefin Tuna run this year too! In the inlet there are still Speckled Trout being caught and also a few reports of some sharks being caught here and there off the oceanfront. There have not been too many reports from offshore for a while as the weather has not cooperated but the last one we heard, about a week ago, reported a great Yellowfin Tuna bite and Wahoo!

As always, we are more than happy to answer any questions you may have so please feel free to give our office a call at 757-491-8000. The office isĀ open 7 days a week from 7am-5pm!
