Spring Time Bluefish & Bonita Mackerel, Awesome Deep Drop Fishing

by | May 19, 2016

Inshore:

The High Hopes went out this morning on a half day inshore and had some success catching some beautiful Bluefish as well as some Bonita Mackerel in the mix. The inshore fishing has been steadily picking up as the weather here has started heating up the water. The inshore bite has started producing a mixed bite of Bluefish, Mackerel, Flounder, and some nice Red Drum as well. There are some small sharks starting to move in as well.

Offshore:

The offshore boats have been running mostly deep drop trips here recently as we await for the arrival of some great trolling fishing. The deep drop trips have had some awesome catches of Black Sea Bass since the season reopened on the 15th. They have also caught some  Blueline Tilefish, and Snowy Grouper. The last trip the Rudee Angler Ran offshore was packed full of Citation catches. Pretty work by Capt Mark and Capt Skip! We are hoping the that fleet will be out trolling the Norfolk Canyon in the near future for Blue and White Marlin, Mahi, and Wahoo. We are looking forward to another awesome summer of offshore fishing!
