Offshore:
We have the Rebel is fishing offshore today. Today is day 1 of the Virginia Beach Marlin Invitational Tournament. So we are remaining hopefully to see lots of release flags flying on outriggers as they pull into the inlet, as well as possibly some Tuna and Mahi!
Don’t Forget about the Wine Women and Fishing Tournament coming up next month. Registration is August 15th and fishing is the following day on August 16th. If you have a group of ladies looking to do some fishing in this tournament for a cause, be sure to book your boat before they are filled up. Inshore:
The inshore fishing this morning has been another great bite. We have seen some really nice catches of Spanish Mackerel, Bluefish, and even some Really nice Cobia in the mix. The High Hopes hit the dock with a great mix of Spanish Mackerel, & Bluefish! The Veteran returned this morning to the dock with some nice Spanish Mackerel. The Top Notch just hit the docks with a really nice Cobia, as well as a haul of Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish.
Rudee Inlet:
Inside of Rudee Inlet the bite remains solid with Croaker and Spot, with some nice keeper Flounder in the mix. The popular choices of bait have been: Squid, Bloodworms, Live Minnows, & Finger Mullet. The Squid and Bloodworms have been working best for the Croaker and Spot. The live Minnows have seemed to be working great for the Flounder when you can find the bite. The Finger Mullet has been great for surf fishing as well as for some Puppy Drum that have reportedly been caught inside Rudee Inlet on a scattered bite.
