Offshore

The Backlash, Rebel, Git-R-Done, High Hopes and Instigator headed out offshore before the sun came up to get an early start on the Billfish bite. Some of the boats are fishing in the Virginia Beach Invitational Marlin Tournament while others are out with a charter. The High Hopes just hit the dock with A bunch of Black Sea Bass, a few Mahi, an Eel, as well as a Hake. The Backlash just came in flying a White Marlin release flag, the Instigator also came back flying a White Marlin release flag, as well a a Blue! The GitRDone hit the docks with a few Mahi! The Rebel also returned with six White Marlin release flags flying along with three Blue Marlin releases!

Inshore

The Capt. Cheryl, Top Notch and Veteran left bright and early this morning for some inshore action. The Capt. Cheryl has sent us pictures only a couple hours into their trip of successfully catching and releasing some small Sharks with huge smiles! They also had a nice catch of Spanish Mackerel and Taylor Bluefish which have been a really hot bite the past couple of weeks. The Veteran returned with 22 lbs. worth of Spanish Mackerel and Taylor Bluefish which is really good considering their size!

Rudee Inlet

The Rudee Inlet bite remains predominantly Croaker and Spot. The best baits for these fish have been a mix of Bloodworms and Squid. We have also seen some really nice Flounder being caught on occasion, and some of which have been citation size. The popular baits for Flounder have been live Minnows as well as Gulps on a light jig head. We have also received some reports of some puppy drum being caught as well, they seem to be biting on cut finger mullet when you can find them.
