Rockfish, Seabass, and Speckled Trout

Today At The Marina:

Today will be mostly cloudy with the chance for some hit and miss showers. Winds will be out of the Northwest between 10 and 15 MPH. It will be on the cooler side with highs in the low 60’s. Tonight will remain mostly cloudy with lows in the upper 40’s.  Winds will switch to out of the North between 4 and 10 MPH.

Offshore:

The offshore bite is still producing some great Wahoo. There is also still some Yellowfin Tuna hanging around with the Blackfin Tuna in the mix of things as well. The Mahi bite seems to have slowed down a little bit. Deep drop trips continue to be amazing with some great catches of Black Sea Bass, along side some Tilefish, Barrel Fish, and Black Bellied Rose Fish.

Inshore:

The Rockfish are still way up in the bay. We have had a few boats make the run to get to them on the all day inshore charters. The majority of the Rockfish are smaller, with some nice ones in the mix. Hopefully they get bigger and make their way out into the ocean and head our way in the near future. Don’t forget the Mid Atlantic Rockfish Shootout is just around the corner, and we still have boats available for charter for the tournament. Rudee Inlet:

Rudee Inlet is still full of Speckled Trout. The majority have remained to be throw backs but we have had some nice keepers in the mix, as well as a few citations caught. They seem to be biting best of the white and chartreuse Gulps on a light jig head, as well as the occasional top water artificial baits. Be sure to stop in the marina store for all of your Rudee Inlet needs.
