Yellowfin & Mahi On The Docks

Rudee Inlet:

The Flounder bite inside Rudee Inlet has been starting to heat up, they have been hitting best on Gulps and live minnows. There are still some Bluefish being caught as well, they are biting on cut finger mullet off the bottom as well as top water artificial baits. For those anglers looking to catch some Croaker and Spot they are starting to make their summer appearance biting on live bloodworms as well as the artificial fishbites.

Inshore:

The inshore trips have been doing fairly well with catching some nice Bluefish, and returning with some nice hauls of Bluefish and a few Spanish Mackerel in the mix. We have also heard a few reports of some small Sharks being caught and released in the Virginia coastal waters.  There have also been reports of some nice Red Drum being caught and released up in the bay towards the Eastern Shore side. Anglers fishing in the surf have been reporting a lot of Rays as well as some Bluefish in the mix. There are also several anglers who have had some success sight casting at Cobias. We weighed in a nice 43 pound Cobia today!

Offshore:

We just had some Mahi up on our racks that were caught yesterday. Its great to start seeing some meat on the docks for a start to another great fishing season out of Rudee Inlet. The GitRDone just returned from offshore, back from a successful offshore trip. He returned with a beautiful haul of some nice Yellowfin Tuna, some great Mahi, and a Mako Shark as well! Pretty work Capt. Trick!
