Speckled Trout: 6 lbs 5 oz caught by Paul Ray Lacy of Virginia Beach, VA

Rudee Inlet:

Speckled Trout are still being caught in the inlet. We had a 6 lbs 5 oz speck come in today from a private boat fishing in the inlet. They are also still biting in the Elizabeth River as well. Most people are using artificial gulps and grubs to catch their trout.[clearboth]

Inshore:

The inshore fishing has been slow these past couple of weeks. We haven’t had any Striped Bass brought back to the docks since the Bay has closed, but our boats have been out looking. The most plentiful fish inshore right now are Dogfish.

Offshore:

When the weather allows for them to go out, the private boats that have gone offshore have been successful with Blueline Tilefish. Tautogs are about 30-40 miles out, and have been caught by the Light Tower and Triangle Wrecks, but inconsistently.
