by | Dec 20, 2015

Today At The Marina:

Today we are expecting it to be mainly sunny, but on the cooler side with highs only near 60. Winds will be North and at times Southeast between 5 and 10 MPH. Tonight we will see a few clouds. It will be chilly with lows in the upper 30’s. Winds will be out of the south at 10 MPH.

Inshore:

Bright and early this morning the WaveRunner and Top Notch headed out in search of Rockfish. Thew saw 2 foot seas with North winds between 10 and 15 KT. Today inshore anglers will be facing North winds between 10 and 15 KT, before dropping out to 5 to 10 KT in the afternoon. Seas will be between 1 and 2 feet.

The Top Notch just returned with 2 Rockfish. One hit the scales at 41 lbs, and the 2nd hit 50 pounds. The Top Notch came in 3rd place in the JMU Rockfish Shootout with a two fish stringer of 91 lbs! We Also talked to the WaveRunner and they too have some nice Rockfish to bring home, they will be in a little later. A private boat also pulled in with some nice ones.

Offshore:

Offshore anglers today will be seeing North to Northwest winds between 10 and 20 KT, before diminishing to between 5 and 10 KT out of the North to Northeast. Seas will be between 3 and 5 feet, and dropping out to between 2 and 3 feet. There are plenty of Sea Bass still around near wrecks. The deep drop trips have also been bringing in some nice catches of Tilefish and Barrel fish as well.

Rudee Inlet:

Fishing inside of Rudee Inlet has seemed a little on the slower side, with not much action. There are still some Speckled Trout hitting on Gulps on a light jig head.
