Bottom Fish and Marlin

by | Sep 18, 2016

Rudee Inlet:

Inside Rudee Inlet there have continued to be some nice Flounder being caught on Gulp on a light jig head. There has also been a decent Croaker bite going on, with a few Spot starting to move in a swell. Croaker and Spot will bite best on live bloodworms as well as cut squid.

Inshore:

Though we have no boats fishing inshore today, that does not mean the fish are not there. Recently the fleet have continued to succeed with catch some nice Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish. We have also heard some reports of some Red Drum being caught and released as well.

Offshore:

Bright and early this morning we had the Capt Cheryl, Backlash, and Top Notch all head out towards to Norfolk Canyon. We are expecting to see some more release flags flying on their riggers as the return. The offshore boats have seen a bunch of White Marlin, as well as a few Spearfish, Sailfish, and Blue Marlin in the mix of things. As far as the meat fish go in recent days we have seen a few Yellowfin Tuna and a bunch of nice gaffer Mahi, and the occasional Wahoo hit the docks. We are expecting the offshore fleet to return between 5 and 6 this evening so be sure to check back with us then. The Capt Cheryl just returned to the docks with a White Marlin flag flying along with a nice catch of Blueline Tilefish and Seabass!
