Billfish and Mahi Offshore, Strong Inshore Fishing

by | Aug 18, 2016

Rudee Inlet:

The Rudee Inlet bite remains predominately Croaker over the past few days with a few Spot in the mix of things. Popular baits for these fish have been live bloodworms or squid on a bottom rig. There are still some nice Flounder being caught on occasion using Gulp on a light jig head, though most have been throwbacks. There are a few Bluefish and Puppy Drum hitting on cut baits and light artificials.

Inshore:

This morning we have the High Hopes and Capt Cheryl fishing both morning and afternoon inshore trips. They both returned to the docks with a nice catch of Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish. This afternoon the High Hopes returned with another fantastic catch of Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish, and the Capt Cheryl had some fun catching and releasing some small sharks and a Cobia!

Offshore:

Today we had the GitRDone, WaveRunner, and Backlash all fish offshore in the Norfolk Canyon. The GitRDone was the first one in and returned with an impressive catch of Mahi. The Backlash returned shortly after flying 2 White Marlin release flags, and also had a citation for a released Dusky Shark. We are not expecting the WaveRunner to return until after dark so be sure to check back with us to see how they did.
