Bluefish On The Docks

by | Oct 13, 2015

Today At The Marina:

Clear blue skies this morning followed by some increasing clouds this afternoon, with a few isolated showers possible. Today will be warm, but a little on the breezy side with highs near 80. Winds will be southwest between 10 and 20 MPH.

Inshore:

Today will be southwest winds between 15 and 20 KT. Seas will be between 3 and 4 feet. There is also a chance for us to see some isolated showers. The wind will switch to the West between 10 and 15 KT, dropping seas to between 2 and 3 feet. We also have another slight chance of showers this evening. The inshore bite has been slow here in recent days with only a handful of Bluefish being caught, though there are some Red Drum that are starting to make an appearance.  We do have one boat fishing inshore this afternoon, so be sure to check back with us this evening to see how they did and to get caught up on the latest bite. The Capt Cheryl just hit the docks with their limit of Bluefish!

Offshore:

Offshore anglers will be facing southwest winds between 15 and 25 KT, bringing seas to between 4 and 7 feet. This evening the winds will become west to northwest between 10 and 20 KT. Seas will be between 5 and 8 feet. None of the fleet has fished offshore recently, though we have received reports of some Dolphin still being caught, and even a few scattered Yellowfin Tuna in the mix.

Rudee Inlet:

Rudee Inlet is starting to produce a nice Speckled Trout bite. There are plenty of small ones to be caught, bought there are more and more keepers being reportedly caught. Lightly bouncing some artificial jig baits as well as the mirrolures seem to be working. There are also some Puppy Drum making an appearance on cut bait, as well as some Spot being caught on the bottom with bloodworms.
