Last updated: Check back here for updated information regarding this rally.
There is going to be a rally on Washington, D.C. that is occurring February 24, 2010 concerning regulations and closures of different types of fish (including Black Sea Bass, Red Snapper, Amberjack, Flounder and more!). Many different fisheries including commercial and recreational fishing will be affected if the closures and strict regulations are not revised. We are currently working on getting some information together about this event, so make sure to be checking our website over the next few days for more information. We are also planning on sponsoring a bus for this event so if you are interested in attending this rally please contact the marina office after Monday Jan 26th for more details. (New Bus Details) **The bus ride will be free, but we do need an accurate head count, because space on the bus is limited. Please call and make reservations in advance, as people with reservations will get priority over those who don't have them. The bus will leave the Fishing Center promptly at 7am. It will leave Washington, DC at 4pm and should return at 8pm. The bus will only stop at the Fishing Center on the way there and back.**
For all those interested in joining up and heading to Washington, we will post specifics as soon as we have them, but make sure to plan ahead because it is a Wednesday!!! Any support would be greatly appreciated (including emails or letters sharing your opinions)! Other marinas from different areas are also planning on participating, and we hope this will be a huge and successful event! Don't forget to give your input on our Striped Bass poll as well if you haven't yet as this information will hopefully be addressed. It is located at the bottom of this page.
