Day 2 of F.W.M Memorial Marlin Open

by | Sep 11, 2016

Rudee Inlet:

Lately we have been hearing of some Speckled Trout starting to make an appearance inside Rudee Inlet, as well as a few spot. There are still a bunch of Croaker hitting on a bottom rig. There are still some Flounder being caught on Gulp on a light jig head, with some nice keepers in the mix of things!

Inshore:

Though none of the fleet is fishing inshore today, in recent days charters have continued to catch some nice Spanish Mackerel and Bluefish, with the occasional Flounder in the mix of things.

Offshore:

We had a total of 9 boats fish on day 1 of the F.W.M. Memorial Marlin Open! The Chasin Tail is in the lead with 8 White Marlin releases, followed by the Canyon Express with 6 Whites, and the Croupier is in third with 5 white releases on time over the Electric Bill who also had 5. The Electric Bill weighed in a 4.1 pound Mahi. A non tournament boat had some nice Wahoo and Mahi hit the docks. Tomorrow is the final day and we have 9 boats left to fish! Tight lines to all fishing tomorrow, and awesome work today for those who fished. We had 37 White Marlin releases and 1 Spearfish released. Today we have another 9 boats fishing, we are expecting them back between 5 and 6 this evening so be sure to check back with us to see how everyone fared. The Capt. Cheryl returned with 6 White Marlin and Mahi! The Instigator returned with 4 White Marlin! Congratulations to the Alexis for winning the tournament!
