A Sunny December Day

Rudee Inlet:

Inside Rudee Inlet right now is predominately Speckled Trout being caught on Gulp on a light jig head as well as various top-water artificial baits.  There are still a few lingering Puppy Drum inside the inlet as well, but seem to be a little more difficult to find; cut Finger Mullet seems to be the best bait for those looking to hook up on a small drum.

Inshore:

Fishing along the Virginia Beach coast here recently has not produced too much action. We have not seen many Bluefish here in recent weeks, though there is plenty of Spiny Dogfish Sharks to be caught. For those anglers who are patiently waiting for the Rockfish to make their way into the ocean and inside of three miles, you will just have to continue to wait as we have not seen or heard of any being caught yet. There are some nice ones that have been caught slow trolling live eels up near Cape Charles. Tautog have also been caught in pretty good numbers this season up in the bay as well!

Offshore:

Captain Skip Feller of Rudee Tours says fish are being caught offshore! Anglers looking to deep drop have a chance of catching some Black Sea Bass, Blueline Tilefish, Golden Tilefish, Black Bellied Rose Fish, and some large Bluefish, as well as some nice sized Flounder!
