The weather looks gray and cold
this morning but they say it is not going to last. We did have one charter
boat go offshore today.
A few of the captains who have
gone fishing over the last few days have come in this morning to catch up with
each other. The topic of discussion this morning, meat fish! The
captains all know that the Marlin fishing right now is phenomenal, but the
question is, are there any meat fish? The answer is definitely yes.
One boat had 4 large Yellow Fin tunas yesterday (about 60-80 lbs each) and the
rest of the captains said it was all they could do to avoid catching Mahi Mahi
over the past few days. The captains saw schools of Mahi Mahi so thick,
that you could easily catch your limit and then some. There are also more
and more reports of Yellow Fin tunas just North of us that are still moving
South. Over the next few days and weeks the fishing should only get better
from here. The marlin fishing is so good right now, almost every captain
that has gone out right now has broken their own personal record of Marlin, and
they are researching the Virginia State record of the number of released Marlin
caught in a single day.
The weather looks a little rough
for tomorrow, but right now Sunday, Monday and the rest of the week look like
great fishing weather. If you have ever been interested in offshore
Marlin, Tuna or Dolphin fishing, now is the time to do it.
