The wind does not seem to want to slow down any today either.  It is not blowing as bad here on the shore, but there are still small craft advisories in effect through this afternoon.

We have some small boats fishing in the Inlet again today, seems like the main fish to be catching right now is Speckled Trout. They have finally moved in and have been making quite an appearance these past couple of weeks. Many anglers say they have been catching Specks off of Gulp and similar lures right in Rudee Inlet.

Luckily when the wind is coming out of the South like this, the bay is still very fishable.  It is still a little choppy, but it is much calmer than in the ocean.  This way we can still get you out there on the first Stripers of the season.  We are getting more and more reports of the Striper moving in.  These fish are a bit smaller than they will be when the Ocean season opens in January, but many locals prefer to catch the Striper when they are at this size.  They say that the meat on the fish is much better when the fish are smaller.  Now Rockfish is good to eat at any size, but the general consensus seems to be that the meat is a bit tastier when the fish are smaller.

Why don't you make the decision for yourself and charter a boat to go out after these coveted fish today!!
