WHAT A BEAUTIFUL DAY!!! Finally the weather
has decided it wants to be cooperative here in Virginia Beach! The sun is
out, it isn't too windy, and it is a great temperature to be outside!
We had one of our charter boats head out
today for a 3/4 Rockfish trip and came back with their limit of 2 fish per
person for the 4 anglers. Captain Keith Harlan of the Mega Bite reported
that the fish he was finding were still up in the bay, hanging around the
islands. The third island was where they were catching some and he said
that the bite was close to the rocks. The sizes are still small, with the
larger sizes he saw today being about 23 inches. He expects though that by
the end of this week or next week that we will start seeing the fish near the
high rise. It's great to finally have boats being able to get out to fish
for these fish. They are not only a lot of fun to catch, but they are
great to eat. They put up a fight and make it an exciting trip!
To book a charter for Rockfish or any other
type of fish, call us at 757-491-8000 or 800-725-0509. We are also fishing
for Bluefish, Flounder, Trigger Fish, Red Drum, Scattered Yellowfin Tuna,
Swordfish, Amberjack, Wahoo, or the assortment of fish on the deep drop trips,
so book your trip today!!
In addition to the charters, a lot of
people are still fishing from the shore in Rudee Inlet. There are still
tons of Speckled Trout, some Spot, Flounder, and Puppy Drum. The bait of
choice is still bloodworms, squid and mullet.
The head boats are still running trips as
well this year, fishing for Trigger, Flounder, Tautoug, Blue Fish, Grouper, Blue
Line Tile, Golden Tile, and Black Belly Rose Fish. For more
information, call Rudee Tours at 757-422-5700.
