The first half day trip just came in.  They had a nice catch of Taylor Blues and Spanish Mackerel.  Check back later for an updated report from the afternoon boats.

For those of you who follow fishing tournaments, the Big Rock Blue Marlin Tournament out of Morehead, NC ended yesterday.  The first place winner ended up with a nice purse of almost $525,000.  Congratulations to all the captains, mates, and anglers who placed in the tournament. 

If you are interested in fishing one of these prestigious tournaments, don't forget that Virginia Beach has its share of offshore tournaments as well.  The next big tournament is the Virginia Beach Tuna Tournament.  We are very excited for this tournament, as we will be a weigh station this year.  Many local anglers and several of our charter boats have placed and even won this tournament over the last few years.  The tournament will take place from July 6th - 9th.  If you are interested in fishing this tournament, we have plenty of boats available. 

There are also several marlin tournaments held out of Virginia Beach, including the Wine Women and Fishing Tournament, the Virginia Beach Invitational, and of course the Virginia Beach Billfish Tournament, which is held out of the Virginia Beach Fishing Center.  This tournament will be held in August from the 25th - 27th.  As a home tournament, our charter boats love to fish the Virginia Beach Billfish Tournament.  We do still have boats available for this tournament as well.  If you are interested in fishing this or any of the tournaments, you can call the marina and we can get you set up to fish one of these tournaments.  There is a little more involved in fishing one of these tournaments than a regular charter, but there is a larger opportunity for bragging rights and prizes as well.  Our fleet has a great reputation for placing well in tournaments all along the mid-Atlantic.  We look forward to seeing the results this summer!
