Unfortunately, the weather this past weekend has slowed the fishing back down some.  The cold snap brought in with the rain and wind seems to have sent a lot of the fish back up into the bay, while also bringing in some bad water outside the inlet.  We had two boats leave the docks today and both were successful in finding the fish, though!  The Waterman reported having to run a bit further than they have had to recently and ended up fishing back up in the bay today.  They did come back to the docks though with 7 fish, with sizes still being what we have seen so far.

Even though today was slower, the water has already begun to clear back up and fishing will kick up to full speed once again over the holiday!  The fishing is still great, it's just been a bit slower than we saw the last few days of last week.

All of the captains and mates are enthusiastic over the great fishing we have had and all anxious to see what the next 2 months bring.  The sizes we have seen for the Rockfish so far are good... but nothing like they will be soon.  We are still waiting for the nice large citations to hit our ocean waters as the fish continue to make their way down out of the bay.  So far the fish we have been catching are from the ocean water up north in New Jersey, and are anxious for the bay fish to join up with them.  The great thing about the bay fish is that when they reach the ocean they are big and FAT from feeding all the way down as they migrate from the Chesapeake Bay into the Atlantic Ocean.
