We had several boats venture offshore from Rudee Inlet, the catches varied from Bottom Fish, to Tuna, to a 262# Swordfish!! The boats offshore also reported seeing a lot of Tuna, but were tough to get a bite. The Headboats had excellent catches of Seabass, a few Triggerfish, Flounder, and Bluefish! The Inlet is still catching Speckled Trout, mostly shorts with a few keepers, and the Puppy Drum have started to show up! There is still time to get a charter booked, and with the Tuna running there is potential for a great day of fishing!
Yesterday, the Backlash was finally able to make it offshore! They returned to the docks with Yellowfin Tuna and Big Eye Tuna! In the inlet people are still catching mainly Trout and there have been a few Puppy Drum mixed in. The headboats are continuing their Seabass trips and have been doing well on days where the weather permits. These trips will continue to run through December.
More windy days kept everyone at the docks all weekend; however, the Backlash was finally able to make it offshore today! Check back later to see how they did.
Another rainy and windy day here in Virginia Beach. Looking like the weekend is going to be just as windy and rough unfortunately; however, Monday is looking good so we are keeping our fingers crossed! This time of year is always a great time for our guys to get some work done on their boats. You can see Capt. Russ Kostinas from the Top Notch in the picture getting ready to lay some non-skid on his deck!
Unfortunately some rough seas have kept our charter boats at the docks the past few days. In the inlet though, we have had reports of Speckled Trout, and Spot being caught! With the Speckled Trout there have been a few shorts still, but also a good amount of keepers! The Puppy Drum should be making their way into the inlet any day now! The headboat was able to get out for a full day of Seabass fishing yesterday, they did well coming back with Seabass and Triggerfish. We will be sure to keep you updated with any fishing reports from the boats and inlet through the fall and winter months!
