Inshore: The Rockfish Tournament was a little slow today due to the weather, but there was a nice Striper caught on the Jennifer Ann that weighed 40.6 pounds!

Citations: Black Sea Bass caught by Edward Vedder of Virginia Beach, VA on the Rudee Angler Black Sea Bass caught by Tracy Brooks Jr. of Lusby, Maryland on the Rudee Angler Unfortunately the Black Sea Bass season closes December 31, 2014, but we have had a very successful season! Rudee Inlet: There are still some Speckled Trout in the inlet, but they are few and far between. Inshore: We just heard that some Striped Bass are being caught off of Cape Henry. No reports on size just yet. Offshore: The Bluefin Tuna are running offshore. We have also been seeing some nice Black Seabass. We weighed in a citation size Black Seabass this morning weighing in at 5lbs. 10oz.
Inshore/Chesapeake Bay: We have continued to receive reports of some nice Rockfish being caught in the bay on live eels. The Rockfish Tournament is coming up the end of this month! Offshore: None of the fleet has fished offshore recently, so we do not have a first hand fishing report for offshore. Though we have heard reports of there still being a few Yellowfin and Blackfin Tuna being caught, Deep Dropping has continued to be a success.

Offshore Report: A private boat brought in some nice fish caught in the norfolk canyon. Five citation Blueline Tilefish and one 21lb citation Bluefish!
Rudee Inlet: The bite in the inlet is still predominantly speckled trout but there have been some puppy drum caught! The trout are being caught with cut bait, mullet or gulps. The puppy drum are being caught on cut bait! Inshore: The striper are being caught in the Chesapeake Bay and on the Easter Shore. The bluefish have left for the season but we are hoping the striper make their way in closer soon! Offshore: Wahoo and Tuna are being caught trolling offshore but the most meat is being caught deep-dropping. The deep-drop trips are bringing in Blueline tile fish, black seabass, black bellied rose fish, and trigger fish!
Rudee Inlet: Speckled Trout and Puppy Drum have continued to bite. Puppy drum have been biting on cut bait well as the occasional grub, but have been hard to find. There are some nice Speckled Trout being caught on Gulps on a light Jig Head, as well as the MirrOlures. We have weighed in several citation Speckled Trout over the passed week. Inshore/Chesapeake Bay: We have received reports of some nice Rockfish being caught in the bay. Currently they are biting well on live eels. Though the numbers are not really there, the Striper seem to have some size to them from what we have heard. The Rockfish Tournament is coming up the end of this month!
Rudee Inlet: There have been quite a bit of Speckled Trout citations recently! Today, we had a gentleman come in with a 24″ release citation. The past week we have had numerous anglers come up with Specks ranging from 5-7 lbs! These fish are a bit harder Most people are using gulps with a jig head in the inlet to catch their speckled trout. Mirrolures have also brought people luck for trout in the inlet! Inshore: Good sized Speckled Trout, and even citations, are being caught in the Elizabeth River. Striped Bass are also being caught in the Chesapeake Bay on Eels. Rudee Inlet: Although there is a small craft advisory, there will be no problem fishing in the inlet. Speckled Trout are still biting as well as Puppy Drum. Inshore: We are still hearing reports of Striper being caught at the tunnels. Seabass and Triggerfish are still out there. Tautog are biting strong at the islands as well. Offshore: Blueline Tilefish, Black Bellied Rosefish, and Black Seabass are still doing well on the 17 hour offshore trips that are offered from Rudee Tours!
